Personal Bio

Ann Adams started her teaching career here at St. Regis.  She taught Kindergarten for two years and then due to low enrollment, transferred to St. Bernadette’s where she continued to teach Kindergarten for another year before moving up to Fourth Grade.  She taught Fourth Grade for three years.  She then took a year off to have her first child and stay home with him during his first year.  She came back to St. Regis as a part-time P.E. teacher.  She continued to teach P.E. part-time until her third child came here in Kindergarten.  Since then, she has worked full time for St.  Regis:  one day a week as the Librarian and four days a week as the P.E. teacher.  She also coaches Track and Cross Country at O’Hara High School.  During the summers, Ann trains area swim instructors and mentors them.

Ann loves to be physical herself.  Due to a childhood condition, she was rarely able to participate in physical education classes until Seventh Grade when her condition was cured.  At that point, she had so much pent up energy, she joined track and became hooked on physical endeavors.  She ran track and cross country, played volleyball, basketball, soccer and swam.

Now Ann likes to hike and scuba dive when she gets a chance.  She practices what she preaches to her students.  She tries to exercise for 50 – 60 minutes at least five days a week.  Because family commitments take priority, there are some weeks where she is lucky to get two days a week in.  Ann also loves to read and tries very hard to carve out a couple hours a week to read.  Ann spends most of her non work time being an involved Mom.

Ann sincerely believes, tries to live by, and teaches the students what 1 Corinthians 6: 19 – 20 states:  “My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in me, whom I have from You, O God, and I am not my own.  For I have been bought with a price; therefore, I will glorify God in my body and in my spirit, which are yours.”  She tries to teach the children the importance of taking good care of their bodies which God gave to them to glorify Him in their own special way.
